Yama 75/25 Sock knits up into a soft yet durable fabric with minimal pilling and beautifully defined stitches. Intended for socks but very suitable for hats, shawls and sweaters alike. I like to combine it with Yama Merino Linen Singles and Soft Sock for colourwork!
Dye batches vary and some colourways are not repeated, please make sure to purchase enough yarn to complete your project and remember to alternate skeins when working on larger pieces of fabric. Variegated skeins take more effort to produce and are charged for a little extra. Note that the skeins you receive may not be the identical skeins shown in the photograph.
Care Instructions:
Garments can be machine washed on a gentle cycle however I recommend hand washing in cool water. Soak in a wool wash and rinse in clean water with a drop of essential oil. Roll in a towel to get the water out and dry flat.
Note that the darker saturated colourways can give off some residual dye on the hands while knitting, this is called “crocking”, read about it on the “Care Instructions” page under Info in the main menu.

While the 60% Merino content is superwash, the Alpaca and Kid Mohair fibres are feltable making this a a great yarn for colourwork projects and has beautiful stitch definition. Next to skin soft and suitable for projects such as sweaters, shawls and hats. Great stitch definition for stranded colourwork projects. TIP! For painting with yarn effects in colourwork sweaters ~ hold Yama Merino Linen Singles (or any other Yama sock weight yarn) double to create a marled or fading effect, with one strand of Worsted as the main colour .
