Yama Merino Linen Singles is a soft single ply, fingering weight yarn with rustic appeal. Popular for hats, shawls and sweaters. Hold together with a strand of KidSilk for a luxuriously soft fabric or hold double for colourwork and marling projects in combination with Merino Linen Worsted.

Paul Klee Sweater ~ 11 skein kit *Sold Out*

This kit contains 9 x 100gram skeins of Yama Merino Linen Singles and 2 x 50gram skeins of Yama KidSilk to knit a similar (not identical!) Paul Klee sweater to mine. The design is by Midori Hirosi. (Please note that the pattern is not included in the kit, it can be purchased via Ravelry.com. Also see my Ravelry project page for notes about my knit.) The pattern calls for 14 to 24 colours but I used less and repeated some in different combinations throughout the yoke design which worked well. There will be plenty left over yarn from the colourwork to use in other projects!

The colourways included are:

4 x Chocolate Bark (Merino Linen Singles ~ this is the MC and will be enough to knit at least a short sleeve sweater for all the sizes offered in the pattern. Most sizes will be able to knit 3 quarter to long sleeves.)

Yama KidSilk *Sold Out*

Yama KidSilk is a luxurious South African lace weight yarn. Next to skin soft with gorgeous lustre and halo. Hold two strands together for a light yet warm garment or combine with other Yama yarns for a romantic, dreamy fabric.

KidSilk colourways are often not repeated, please make sure to purchase enough yarn to complete your project and remember to alternate skeins when working on larger pieces of fabric. I knitted the Easy V sweater by Boylandknitworks in colourway Smoke for the body, Raven for the neckline and cuffs, and Sea Urchin along with my handspun in the colourwork. For something along the same lines (but not identical!), try Cosmic Grape for the neck and cuffs, Smoke or Ghost Grey for the body with Sea Urchin, Stone and Burnt Terra Cotta or Rose Taupe for the colourwork.

Yama Merino Linen Worsted is the even cosier version of my Merino Linen Singles. The soft ply and linen fibres give this yarn a rustic, almost handspun character. Next to skin soft and suitable for projects such as sweaters, shawls and hats. Great stitch definition for stranded colourwork projects. TIP! Hold Yama Merino Linen Singles double for creating a marled or fading colourwork yoke, with one strand of Worsted for the main body of a sweater!
